Boeing Global Services Customer Experience (BGS CX) is seeking an Intermediate User Experience Designer (UX) to join the Product Research & Incubation team at Boeing Vancouver’s office in Richmond, BC, supporting rapid development of new product concepts. While the work is based in Richmond, part of the team is located in India, which does necessitate some early morning meetings. This position allows for a hybrid work model providing the flexibility of working from home and being onsite when required.
Work on emerging technologies, such as Self Sovereign Identity, blockchain, graph DBs, and APIs. Gain experience designing for both web and mobile apps as part of an integrated product team (IPT) of developers, technical subject matter experts, and product managers. The team follows a Scaled Agile (SAFe) process. Design work is primarily done in Sketch and InVision (Figma coming soon).
You will also be part of the larger BGS CX organization of over 100 researchers, product designers, and data analysts where you will benefit from, and contribute to, our DesignOps initiatives, such as our design system, training program, ResearchOps, and tools working groups. You will report to a UX manager with over 20 years of experience in the design industry who cares deeply about mentorship and career development.
Plan and perform user research activities to discover, understand, and document needs.
Work with product managers to analyze research results, and create artifacts, such as journey maps and storyboards, to communicate user needs and product visions, facilitating team decision-making.
Develop solutions through brainstorming, user flows, sketching, UI mockups, and prototypes, regularly seeking feedback from team members and customers.
Clearly and confidently present work to product management and other stakeholders.
Advocate for user needs throughout the design and development process.
Work closely with developers to ensure feasibility and accurate implementation.
Participate fully in the IPT’s Agile ceremonies.
Conduct usability testing, and work with data analysts to track and analyze customer experience metrics.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Richmond, BC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Experience with end-to-end design processes
Experience planning and conducting UX research methods such as user interviews and usability testing
Proficiency with current design and prototyping tools such as Sketch and InVision
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Experience in aviation or aerospace
Experience working in SAFe or Agile teams
Understanding of APIs and JSON
Typical Education and Experience:
Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
