Boeing Vancouver is seeking a Senior Developer, reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Development working out of the Vancouver, BC office.  The Senior Developer will have systems and data expertise will work under limited supervision to build application code and assist our Development Team in application development on Google Cloud Platform.

The Senior Developer, should be familiar with developing data pipeline solutions including the data mappings and transformations. The Senior Developer will work closely with a team to ensure the high coding standards are maintained. The position will involve designing and building application code, developing data and build pipeline solutions with other Developers, Data and DevOps Engineers on the team.

Position Responsibilities

• Develop application code

• Develop infrastructure code

• Develop platform code

• With the Development team:

  • Architect, design, and build scalable, reliable, and high performance systems and environments

  • Design and implement both continuous integration and continuous delivery

  • Design and build monitoring solutions and services

  • Monitor health of the application and environment, and act to return system to health when alerted

• Effectively contribute to building the overall knowledge and expertise of the technical team

• Evangelize high coding standards throughout the work, organization, and interactions with others

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• A technical degree/diploma in a related field of study

• Minimum 5 years Software Development Experience

• Minimum 2 years professional experience using Python

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• Experience with NodeJS, React and Bash, PyCharm

• Experience with Compute Frameworks such as Ray or Dask

• Experience with developing and supporting applications in docker

• Experience with container orchestration using Docker Swarm or Kubernetes

• Experience with Google Cloud Run and Container-Optimized OS

Typical Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

This requisition is for a, locally hired position in Vancouver, BC Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
