The Opportunity

We are seeking multiple Quality Engineers to join our Quality team on the MQ-28 Ghost Bat Program. As an integral team mate, you will be responsible for the development and deployment of the Quality Management System required to support the world-class production facility in regional Queensland. You will be immersed in a learning culture focused on innovation and iterative development, while maintaining great work-life balance and rewarded with a competitive benefits package.

This role will be primarily based at our Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport facility with travel to other production locations around western Brisbane and nationally when needed. Your work hours will be required to align to production support needs with flexibility to adjust in consultation with managers.

Relocation assistance is negotiable for the successful candidates as part of a holistic benefits package.

Key responsibilities:

  • Integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of program processes and documentation
  • Develop quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Develop Quality criteria, conduct capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
  • Develop and select methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Support the qualification of first of type products in a new production facility in Toowoomba
  • Prepare, conduct & produce First Article Inspections Reports (FAIR)
  • Facilitate in Failure Mode Evaluation Analysis (FMEA) for new production parts to achieve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the wider business Quality function, reporting in on metrics and findings
  • Support Quality Production Specialists in their roles
  • Perform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and develop, proof-test and deploy Corrective Actions to resolve production issues and strive for zero defects.

Highly Desirable:

  • Part/process qualification/certification experience
  • Strong understanding of the AS9100 standard
  • Hands on experience in an aerospace or similar advanced assembly/fabrication type environment
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) knowledge
  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering/Manufacture or similar disciplines
