We are recruiting for aspiring Project Managers located in Newcastle (RAAF Williamtown), Brisbane and Adelaide. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Boeing Defence Australia team that delivers capability enhancements and sustainment support for commercial derivative aircraft including the RAAF Wedgetail E-7A and P-8A Poseidon platforms. 

 Our team of professional project management specialists will offer you both guidance and autonomy to develop a breadth of PM experience across a range of large aerospace capability programs. 

 You will be provided a variety of opportunities to support project management activities such as: 

  • Leading geographically dispersed, multi-disciplined teams for planning and execution of projects, proposals (Contract Change Proposals, Survey & Quote and new business) and work packages.
  • Ensuring compliance with Boeing policy and procedures; Australian statutory and customer requirements for assigned tasks.
  • Monitoring, controlling and reporting on progress to program leadership and senior stakeholders.
  • Management of Risk, Issues and Opportunities including proactive escalation of "Help Needed" to ensure a proactive resolution of unforeseen issues.
  • Improving project management processes and business systems that support project decision makers.

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated project management experience in a contribution/support capacity.
  • Work experience in an engineering project environment.
  • Tertiary education in STEM, management or business.  Formal project management qualifications and industry recognised accreditation would be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to exert influence at multiple organisational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, effectively managing competing priorities and working to deadlines.
  • High level communication and negotiation skills that facilitate interaction between project teams and stakeholders.
  • An eagerness to learn and ambition to progress a career as a Project Manager.
