As an equal opportunity employer that promotes a diverse and safe workplace environment, one of the country's leading and preferred defence partners, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support the AEW&C Ground Support Segments.The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Wedgetail Aircraft is undergoing a Major Upgrade under the AIR5077 Phase 5A Program and we want you to be a part of the team that supports this upgrade and the ongoing sustainment of the platform.

This role is to work in the Simulation team, based at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW, which supports a number of training devices including development laboratories, mission crew training devices and pilot training simulators.

Responsibilities will include:

  •  Software engineering activities including software requirements analysis and specification, functional analysis, software design and development, software integration and test
  •  Conducting activities in accordance with project plans, and established processes, practices and standards, while continually seeking out opportunities for process improvement
  • Engaging effectively with other team members

 To be successful you will have:

  • 5-7 years' experience in a complex engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of and industry experience in Software Engineering
  • A qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience in UNIX, Object Oriented design, C++, C# and python would be an advantage.
  • Experience in complex, multi-threaded, server-client based systems
  • Familiarity with source code control and document configuration management systems
  • Excellent communication skills that enable the applicant to influence outcomes in a group environment.
  • Simulation experience would be beneficial.
  • Experience within an Aerospace or Defence environment highly regarded.
