Boeing is looking for a Automation Engineer based out of Winnipeg, MB, Canada.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists with definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of Boeing products.
Drafts engineering specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes.
Assists in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needs.
Assists with development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements.
Performs routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
Conducts routine analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes.
Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Develops computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements.
Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Must have 2+ years of related engineering experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate with scientific and non-scientific communities from all levels
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Experience with C++, Java, or Python
Experience of building Automation Frameworks from scratch is desirable
Experience of Agile methodology including practices such as Scrum or Kanban is an added benefit.
Experience using ABB Industrial Robots
Experience with integration of multi-input systems (Example PLCs/pneumatic regulators/motor controllers)
Experience with production validation of development robotics and equipment
Experience in utilizing industry CAD systems (e.g. CATIA/ENOVIA)
Experience with ISO 9001 Design process (FMEA, root cause analysis, etc.)
Knowledge of aviation industry is preferred.
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
