We are looking for current post-secondary students who are interested in working side-by-side with experienced EHS professionals. Our student Interns are given a unique experience as they learn the ropes and attain newfound competencies. Interns are exposed to on-the-job challenges as they work on hands-on tasks, undergo training, and have the opportunity to work on special projects. Representative Major Tasks

·         Support in providing environmental programs.

·         Assists in ISO 14001 management system.

·         Data collection for National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI).

·         Hazardous waste management.

·         Implement environmental audit corrective actions and follow-up.

·         Compile monthly environmental metrics.

·         Day-to-day environmental related duties as assigned.

Competencies

·         Strong oral and written communications skills; should be comfortable presenting in front of an audience.

·         Able to meet deadlines and to juggle multiple priorities, while flawlessly executing on assignments in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

·         Project Management and strong organizational skills.

Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (maybe subject to change)

Qualifications

Education/Experience

·         Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary environmental program.

·         Must be at least a 2nd year student with studies in a relevant program.

·         Must have a Canadian High School diploma or recognized equivalent.

·         Must have demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the application of Microsoft software (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

·         Experience or training in the area of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) is considered an asset.

·         Knowledge of waste management in the areas of recycling and hazardous waste is considered an asset.

·         Project Management as well as data interpretation and input are both considered an asset.

 

*Graduates are ineligible unless continuing in post graduate studies.
