Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. Is seeking a Junior Industrial Engineer that will be reporting to the Industrial Engineering Manager and working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba Office.
The Junior Industrial Engineer will be working on day shift supporting our operations customers within an Industrial Engineering capacity.
Position Responsibilities:
Applies basic industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.
Supports the development of plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.
Participates in the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
Assists with designing, maintaining, and optimizing the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel. Conducts basic work flow design and analysis.
Develops simple models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders.
Supports research, design, develop, improve, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
Supports implementation plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
Documents product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices.
Supports the preparation of operations plans, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
Supports execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices.
Provides production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support.
Follows compliance requirements with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Winnipeg, MB.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Must have knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office which includes Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Must be eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Relevant experience in an industrial engineering capacity (Example: data analysis, solution optimization, time studies, resource planning, lean, manufacturing engineering, and production system development)
Experience with compiling data to provide recommendations for review would be an asset
Experience/understanding of production and business systems (SAP ECC, SAP CAMS, and/or equivalents)
Previous experience with AutoCAD would be an asset
Demonstrated experience in applying process improvements would be an asset
Facilitative, communication, problem-solving, organizational and team-building skills
Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
