Boeing Winnipeg is one of the largest aerospace composite manufacturers in Canada. The company employs over 1,000 people in 800,000 square feet of space in two locations in the city.
Boeing Winnipeg produces over 500 end item composite parts and assemblies for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Major products include wing to body fairings, engine strut forward fairings, engine strut aft fairings, landing gear doors, and engine inlet inner barrels. Boeing Winnipeg designs and manufactures many innovative parts for the 787 Dreamliner as a Tier I partner to the program.
The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist will report to the Health and Safety Manager and will be working out of the Winnipeg office. The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for company Health and Safety protocols and programs.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops program content and instructional materials
Conducts education and training to certify employees and support regulatory and business requirements
Prepares compliance reports to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements
Acts as site interface with regulatory agencies as required
Performs program reviews and provides corrective action, including training or other guidance or expertise to help prevent incidents
Evaluates workplace hazards
Provides input to new business opportunities
Facilitates projects to ensure compliance
Evaluates impact of new regulations on company operations
Reviews vendor contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in health and safety
Must have relevant post-secondary education (i.e. Certificate in Health and Safety, Certificate in Adult Continuing Education)
Prefer a Certified Safety Professional designation
Experience in development and delivery of training and administering assessments
Experience in training, coordinating, and influencing diverse teams regarding safety
Experience in planning, implementing and assessing occupational health and safety programs and processes to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Experience in conducting audits, inspections, investigations and coordinating resolution of issues
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Prefer 2 years’ experience with implementing and managing an Occupational Health and Safety management system is an asset
Knowledge in Machine Guarding and contractor management
Experience in Project Management
Typical Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.)

This position does not offer relocation assistance.
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Winnipeg Operations Ltd. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
