What is your role at Boeing?

I am a Sustainability Intern working with the Global Enterprise Sustainability team. My primary scope of work involves project management for Boeing’s annual Sustainable Aerospace Together Forum, taking place this year in Montreal.

How did you hear about our internships and why did you decide to apply?

I found this internship on my school’s Handshake page and I knew it would be a great opportunity for me to learn more about sustainability in a corporate environment.

In what ways is your team making a real-world impact?

Every person can make an impact here. My manager likes to say that our team brings “positive energy” to the company, as we work toward a better and brighter future for Boeing and beyond.

How does your work contribute to product safety and quality?

My team is constantly working on improvements, such as with Sustainable Aviation Fuel, a greener alternative to traditional jet fuel. By reducing the carbon footprint of our products, we create a positive impact on behalf of Boeing and our customers.

What has been your favorite experience at your internship so far?

After attending a leadership meeting with my colleagues, we shared inspiring stories about teams across the enterprise that work to deliver the highest product quality. That day, I truly connected with my team and felt inspired by the stories of teamwork and excellence that shape our culture.

In what ways do you feel supported by your team?

Everyone on my team is extremely kind and always willing to help, whether it concerns this internship or my future career and educational goals. They always provide me with tangible resources and advice.

How has your internship shaped your career goals?

I feel empowered to further pursue a career in the STEM field. I’ve learned that a strong foundation can help me build a successful career, and I look forward to engaging more closely with my professors to bridge my academic and professional ambitions.

What advice do you have for students who are interested in interning with us?

Engage with everyone that you can and keep an open mind! Communicate with your manager, but don’t be afraid to explore beyond your role, because in a company as big as Boeing, anything is possible.
