The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer to join our lab test team, in Long Beach, CA.

This role will work closely with BT&E leadership, Boeing Global Services (BGS) leadership, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads, and cross-functional engineering teams to optimize lab operations, improve processes, and support test readiness in a dynamic lab setting.

You will apply industrial engineering principles to enhance lab workflows, capacity planning, and resource utilization, ensuring efficient and safe test execution. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to Boeing’s mission by supporting test environments and collaborating with diverse engineering disciplines.

The successful candidate should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with systems engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including an Associate or Experienced Industrial Engineer.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Software, and Cyber Engineers and lab personnel to assess and improve lab test processes and workflows

  • Develop and maintain lab equipment layouts, capacity plans, and work sequencing to optimize test throughput

  • Analyze lab resource utilization and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction

  • Support test readiness assessments and implement lean methodologies tailored to lab environments

  • Develop models, databases, and metrics to monitor lab performance and provide actionable insights to leadership

  • Assist in planning and executing lab modifications, including facility and equipment changes

  • Support safety, ergonomic, and quality compliance within the lab environment

  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives related to lab operations

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, materials management, and program management

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 1 or more years of experience in an Industrial Engineering role

  • Experience working in a technical lab environment

  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3 or more years of experience in an Industrial Engineering role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline

  • Experience working in lab or test environments supporting systems or hardware integration

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience developing capacity plans, layouts, and workflow analyses

  • Knowledge of safety and ergonomic standards applicable to lab environments

Summary pay range Associate: $89,250 - $120,750

Summary pay range Experienced: $107,100 - $144,900
