Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a Production System StabilityIndustrial Engineering Senior Manager joining the 787 Program located in NorthCharleston, South Carolina.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to directly lead an Industrial Engineering team for a Business Unit in the Boeing Commercial Airplanes 787 Airplane Factory.   It is important for this leader to partner with Operations and lead Functional Excellence, while also partnering with their IE Sr. Manager counterparts to ensure standardization and consistency across the program.  This position will report to the 787 Director of Industrial Engineering.  The focus for our teams is to focus on Safety, Quality & Delivery while increasing stability and partnering across functions to achieve our goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and first-level managers applying industrial engineering techniques and concepts to optimize production system design and operational efficiency

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers

  • Utilizes data analytics to prioritize actions and lead the development and execution of integrated plans that secure and sustain operational rate readiness of the production system

  • Applies Systems-Engineering thinking to analyze production system performance and to identify root causes of key issues

  • Leads the alignment of priority production enablers and accountabilities, driving the integration of Manufacturing and cross-commodity Production Support functions to optimize overall production system performance

  • Lead execution and implementation of complex, high‑visibility process improvements that translate Lean strategy into measurable flow enhancements and unit‑hour reductions

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

  • 3+ years of experience driving and implementing continuous improvement in a production facing role

  • 1+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering or equivalent area

  • 1+ years of experience in a management position with direct reports

  • 1 + year of experience using Lean Principles and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3P, Value Steam Mapping, Process mapping, 5S)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a management position with direct reports

  • 3+ years of experience building a safety and quality culture

  • Experience in Lean manufacturing implementation

  • Experience with building organizational talent pipeline in engineering

  • Experience in dynamic environments with customer and/or regulatory interactions

Summary Pay Range: $149,600 to $202,400
