Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Customer Support is hiring Flight Operations Engineer (Associate or Mid Level) to join the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) team in Seal Beach, CA.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Flight Operations Engineers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains and obtains regulatory agency approval for Airplane Flight Manual data necessary for the safe and efficient operation of Boeing airplanes

  • Investigates and analyzes engineering databases, documents, specifications, and change paper to determine customer airplane configurations

  • Uses basic aerodynamic knowledge along with a knowledge of certification requirements and customer expectations to prepare Airplane Flight Manuals using web-based document

    authoring applications

  • Coordinates review of the AFM with Engineering- Unit Members and regulatory agency personnel to assure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements

  • Support/contribute to the development of new and existing technologies, tools, and processes to enhance technology readiness and reduce cycle time and cost of authoring

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

  • 2 or more years' related work experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience

  • Experience working with the FAA and foreign regulatory agencies

  • Knowledge of aerodynamics, airplane performance, flight test, and certification

  • Experience in developing regulatory manuals and technical service documentation

Typical Education/Experience:

(Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range Associate (Level 2): $104,400 - $127, 600

Summary pay range Mid-Level (Level 3): $126,900 - $155,100
