Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring for a Hydro-Mechanical Systems Service Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to work at our Seal Beach, California location.

Position Overview:

As a Hydro-Mechanical Systems Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting customers’ operations of most of our Boeing Commercial Airplane models. This includes primarily the 737, 747, 757, 767 operating fleets, and opportunities to support all other Boeing and McDonnell-Douglas models.  You will collaborate directly with airline customers to resolve issues related to aircraft hydro-mechanical systems, actuation, components, pumps, and motors. Flexibility is important as you may need to address urgent issues and lead technical airline meetings outside regular working hours.  There may be days or periods where you need to work non-standard shifts to support the 24/7/365 operation of the fleet. Additionally, this role involves traveling domestically or internationally around 10% of the time to support airline technical troubleshooting, repairs, and review meetings. Our team is currently hiring for a range of experience levels including: Associate and Experienced Hydro-Mechanical Systems Service Engineer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a liaison and coordinates with various engineering and technical disciplines to address customer concerns

  • Provides technical, design, and informational support for in-service issues

  • Troubleshoots hydraulic system problems consistent with operational protocols

  • Supports analysis, definition, and verification of basic requirements; may modify basic requirements using approved processes and tools

  • Supports, creates, and provides technical documentation (e.g. Fleet Team Digest articles, service letters, drawings, specifications, documents, data sets, design folders, test requirements documents, manuals) in accordance with engineering processes and procedures

  • Assists with the study and assessment of technology development by gathering data, supporting testing, and documenting findings

  • Design, analysis, and production documentation reviews and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance

  • Investigates problems to provide engineering disposition of discrepancies

  • Creates and provides solutions for technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer alone

  • Assists in design and/or analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service

  • Works with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-compliances

  • Assists in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment

Travel Requirement:

Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time domestically (and/or internationally).

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Seal Beach, California location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Able and willing to work outside of standard 1st shift to support 24/7/365-day operation - Saturday and Sunday work will occasionally be required.

  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with Hydraulic Systems, Hydro-Mechanical components, or related fields.

  • Aptitude to present to senior leadership.

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple team functions.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range:

  • Associate (Level 2): $90.950 - $123,050

  • Experienced (Level 3): $111,350 - $150,650
