Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is looking for Metrology & Calibration Technicians to join our team in Seattle, WA.

As a calibration technician, you will have an important and exciting role in the company that includes calibration and certification of Measurement and Test Equipment in metrology parameters such as radio and high frequency electronics and DC/LF equipment. You will tackle new and challenging problems every day. You will be supporting commercial and military programs such as 777X, 737MAX, 787, P-8, Tanker, and others.

This role will be responsible for providing products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace safety and first-time quality as a way of life – not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Metrology & Calibration Technicians.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Update radio & high frequency electronics and DC/LF equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork

  • Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes

  • Prioritize and perform work according to automated daily report list, hot list, or as assigned by lead technician

  • Perform visual check of Electronic Measurement and Test Equipment/process equipment for discrepancies and wear

  • Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes

  • Process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and Measurement and Test Equipment

  • Process equipment to manufacturer's performance specifications

  • Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results

  • Use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair Measurement and Test Equipment

  • Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes

  • Work with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of Measurement and Test Equipment

  • Assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures

  • Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

  • 2+ years of experience in an Electrical/Electronic laboratory test environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Electrical/Electronic - DC/LF or RF and Microwave Metrology process

  • 3+ years of experience in Electrical/Electronic Metrology and/or measurement science

  • 2+ years of experience in a PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) back shop for the military

  • Associate's degree or above

  • Experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification, and/or instrumentation

  • Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)

  • Familiarity with Excel, MET/CAL, LabVIEW, Basic/Visual Basic, computer networking, and troubleshooting

  • Experience in a calibration and/or testing laboratory

  • Experience using and configuring data acquisition units

  • Experience running and configuring automated hardware tests

  • Experience in the aerospace industry

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $56,950 – $77,050

Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3):  $68,000 – $92,000
