Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for an Assembler Precision Bench C to join our Fabrication team in Auburn, Algona, and Puyallup, Washington.

As an Assembler Precision Bench C, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing team, responsible for the precise assembly of aircraft components vital to our aircraft's safety and performance. Your expertise will be essential in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring that each part is meticulously assembled and aligned to meet stringent quality standards. You will engage in various tasks, from drilling and reaming to installing bushings and performing critical quality checks while adhering to best practices for safety and efficiency. Your ability to work collaboratively with team leaders and fellow assemblers will enhance our production processes and contribute to the overall success of our operations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assemble precision aircraft parts and components, including landing gear struts, fueling equipment, and control linkages.

  • Analyze and correct malfunctions as directed by higher-grade employees.

  • Work from engineering prints, assembly pages, specifications, or verbal instructions to complete tasks.

  • Remove and replace parts and assemblies as necessary during the assembly process.

  • Perform drilling, reaming, fitting, riveting, and other similar tasks to complete assembly work.

  • Obtain work assignments from team leaders or supervisors and ensure all required certifications are held.

  • Verify the accuracy of kitted parts and assemblies by comparing part numbers and quantities to work orders and BOMs.

  • Locate and align parts on assembly tools according to drawings or tooling instructions, ensuring proper fit and alignment.

  • Drill, ream, and countersink holes in parts and assemblies following the correct sequence and specifications.

  • Disassemble parts and deburr holes to prepare for fastener installation, ensuring surfaces are clean before assembly.

  • Install bushings into housings using appropriate presses and techniques, including the use of liquid nitrogen as needed.

  • Ball stake bearings and bushings into housings per BAC specifications.

  • Install hardware on electrical assemblies and perform bond and ground checks to ensure proper operation.

  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations and approved methods.

  • Conduct quality checks after each operation to ensure compliance with specifications, including micro-shaving rivets to meet drawing requirements, and prepare for inspection.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings.

  • 1+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.

  • 1+ years of experience with using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators, etc.

  • 1+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $24.00 per hour – $48.58 per hour
