Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Space Vehicle Engineer in Aurora, Colorado to be responsible for command and control of space vehicles (SV), telemetry monitoring, and implementation and verification of specific products loaded to the Space Vehicle.

Specialized training will be provided on necessary skills for ground and Space Vehicle configuration management.  Required certifications will be earned though on-the-job (OJT) training and self-study during allotted on-the-job time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure integrity of the ground system and command path in support of the mission.
  • Use MS-Windows or UNIX based computers for the development of the operational plan and analysis of data collected in support of planning future contacts or anomaly resolution.
  • Coordinate with management and peers to ensure integrity of operational products including procedures, tools, detailed event logging, and system configuration.
  • Analyze technical data and verify and sustain specific system configuration in accordance with defined parameters and operational requirements.
  • Monitor system performance and control system elements by initiating change commands to the system configuration to achieve mission objectives.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

This position is expected to be fully onsite in Aurora, CO.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to obtain adjudicated Counterintelligence Polygraph.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • The position requires successful completion of the Space Vehicle Certification program (Post Start), for continued employment, which requires a combination of self-study – on-the-job time allotted – and on-the-job (OJT) training.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts which include working days, nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Classroom or work-related experience with aerospace engineering vehicles.

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.  You must live be within commuting distance or relocate at your own expense.

Shift:

This position is rotational.  Shift differential and overtime apply.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $87,550 – $118,450
