Fabricator

£36,017.28 - £39,537.68 (incremental increases)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To fabricate quality details and assemblies to satisfy customer requirements by means of forming, welding and fitting.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Fabricating details/assemblies from various materials to required specifications and standards.
  • Being familiar with relevant plant and equipment required to carry out tasks.
  • Maintaining certified status (aerospace welding) where required including provision of test pieces for CAA compliance.
  • Having a working knowledge of shopfloor control systems.
  • Working within Health and Safety Regulations.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that sufficient detail is provided on the application form to demonstrate how the applicant meets essential job criteria, as this alone will be used for vetting purposes.


Essential

  • Candidates must have completed a recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline

AND

  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant post apprenticeship experience in one or more of the following areas: fitting, tig welding, panel beating or metal fabrication, using one or more of the following materials:  titanium, inconel, aluminium or stainless steel.
  • Candidates must be experienced in the use of plant and machinery used in the fabrication process and understand engineering drawings and process sheets.

Desirable

  • Relevant tig-welding experience within the last 5 years
  • Candidates will preferably have a City and Guilds Part 1 or 2, or an NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline.
