Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Product Team Lead Senior Manager to support the Ground Segment on the Air Proprietary 1 Program. As one of the most cutting-edge aerospace programs in the industry, the Air Proprietary 1 Program is at the forefront of innovation and technology, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in aerospace engineering. In this role, you will be part of a high performing, cross functional team building next generation, state-of-the-art capability. This role is located in Berkeley, MO.

This position will directly report to the Air Proprietary 1 Chief Engineer, indirectly report to the Air Proprietary 1 Program Manager and will be a member of the Program leadership team. This position will plan, organize and direct all activities for design, development, fabrication and delivery of the Ground Segment. A successful candidate will have familiarity with development, integration and production of ground segment hardware and software, as well as technical planning and cost/schedule management. As Product Team lead, the successful candidate will hold Responsibility, Accountability & Authority (RAA) to complete all ground segment statement of work and deliverables for the program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct and ensure technical excellence of all work associated with Ground Segment contracted requirements and deliverables.
  • Work with applicable subject matter experts to define Ground Segment technical approaches and ensure adherence to applicable engineering standards and processes.
  • Work closely with all applicable functions and other program product teams to provide necessary people/skills, facility and information technology resources to execute statement of work according to cost and schedule commitments.
  • Provide managerial leadership in steering the development of Secure DevSecOps software pipelines for the streamlined delivery of ground systems capabilities ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in achieving established goals.
  • Provide managerial and technical leadership in the development of ground command and control and mission planning solutions utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering Development.
  • Provide technical subcontract management for all Ground Segment supplier activities.
  • Establish strong relationships with program customers and stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate collaborative sessions, facilitating discussions among government customers, pilots, and product engineers to refine program requirements and enhance product designs.
  • Establish and execute team operating rhythm and integrate with program operating rhythm to align teammates and efficiently disseminate information/direction.
  • Develop, track and communicate metrics to quantify technical and business performance, and organize all cost account management and analysis for the Ground Segment Product Team.
  • Proactively perform risk, issue and opportunity management.
  • Guide and mentor cross-functional teams to drive innovation in the development of ground systems hardware and software solutions.
  • Strategize and implement product portfolio planning, including the development of product and capability roadmaps.
  • Develop and perpetuate a team culture of transparency, collaboration and inclusion.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically 15% of the time.

  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous management experience.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $178,500 - $241,500
