Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Process Engineer - Mission Systems supporting Phantom Works Fixed Wing Proprietary Program in Berkeley, MO.

You will be joining a fast-paced Phantom Works program where you will be responsible for developing and integrating processes to support the development of Mission Systems including sensors, communication, navigation, and weapon systems. In this role, you will be joining a cross-functional team integrating new Mission Systems processes as part of a very exciting and critically important development effort. You will have the opportunity to operate in an agile development environment, mature our processes through the development lifecycle, and collaborate across multiple disciplines.

To excel in this role, you should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a deep understanding of engineering design. You should also have a proven track record of successfully leading process improvement initiatives and driving positive change within a team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and approval of new processes to support the Mission Systems design practices

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify gaps in current processes or the lack of processes

  • Improve existing processes and define processes for new tool technologies

  • Provide strategic direction for the application of industry standard analysis methods and techniques to continuously improve and optimize solutions for complex engineering processes throughout the value stream

  • Guide usage/adoption of these artifacts by Mission Systems teams to ensure adherence

  • Advise engineering management and program leadership on Mission Systems process adherence and implementation strategies to ensure engineering excellence and program success

  • Lead review of products and processes for alignment with project plans and applicable Boeing Enterprise/industry standards

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Berkeley, MO.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start may be required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 10+ years of experience with Systems Engineering or Software Development

  • 10+ years of experience leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members  

  • 10+ years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in development lifecycle tasks 

  • 10+ years of experience with modern process development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Proficiency with Boeing Enterprise Software Design Practices (DPs) for mission-critical systems

  • Experience with Mission Systems

  • Proficiency with the Jira ecosystem

  • Experience with Agile software development and principles of DevSecOps / Continuous Integration (CI)

  • Experience at successfully working with a community of diverse product owners & systems engineers to instantiate mission systems processes into complex systems

Summary pay ranges:

Senior (Level 5): $149,600 - $202,400
