The Boeing Company is looking for a SeniorF-22 Ground Operations Support Specialist to join our team in Edwards AFB, CA on second shift. This role will be a liaison between maintenance and engineering for designated aircraft at the F-22 Combined Test Force (CTF) at Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB), California.

Edwards AFB is the home of the 412th Test Wing and the 2nd largest Air Force base. The wing oversees base day-to-day operations and provides support for over 10,000 military, federal civilian and contract personnel assigned to a 481-square mile installation. The 412th Test Wing plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of aircraft, weapons systems, software and components as well as modeling and simulation for the U.S. Air Force. There are three core components for this mission: flying operations, maintenance and engineering.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and coordination of flight line maintenance activities, maintain control of aircraft test configuration, issue and close documentation for all work performed on the aircraft to support maximum sortie rate and test point burn down in accordance with approved flight test procedures

  • Review released aircraft modification planning packages prior to issuance

  • Act as principle focal point between maintenance, quality assurance, and engineering for troubleshooting and problem resolution

  • Support test mission pre / post flight briefings, interfacing with pilots, Test Directors, Test Conductors, and Flight Test Engineers

  • Provide aircraft status and configuration during pre-flight briefings. Work with CTF and home plant Integrated Products Teams (IPT) during test activities and aircraft troubleshooting

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

This position requires ability to obtain F-22 program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with aircraft systems including avionics, flight controls, hydraulics, fuel and integrated vehicle management systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Active F-22 program access

  • F-22 or F-35 specific experience with aircraft systems including avionics, flight controls, hydraulics, fuel and integrated vehicle management systems.

  • Experience interfacing with multiple organizations, both internal and external, to perform, schedule and execute aircraft modifications and troubleshoot various aircraft systems

  • Working knowledge of the paperwork and processes used at the F-22 CTF, including Flight Test Service Orders (FTSO), Flight Test Requests (FTR), Temporary Modification (T-2), Engineering Inspection Requests (EIR), Engineering Actions (EA), and working knowledge of the Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) is highly desired

  • Flight line and sortie generation experience

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $60,000 – $92,000
