The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Safety & Airworthiness Specialist to join the Global Safety & Regulatory Affairs Emerging Technology & Regulatory Strategy team in Everett, WA.

The team’s mission is to align and integrate safety, security, operational and regulatory strategies enterprise wide to ensure our products and services adapt to a changing regulatory environment and champion strategic emerging technology initiatives with governments, regulators, and industry.

This team is responsible for the Regulatory Issues Management (RIM) enterprise-wide process for distributing and commenting on relevant civil aviation rules, orders, policy and guidance issued by civil aviation regulatory authorities.  RIM ensures proper Boeing response as to the certification, design, quality, operation, manufacture of, and/or processes related to Boeing products and services.

This team is also responsible for partnering with enterprise-wide teams to develop and execute regulatory strategies for global mandates that affect Boeing’s products and services.

As part of an agile, empowered team, this candidate will act as a key resource in monitoring, tracking, and communicating global regulatory rulemaking activities with impacted enterprise stakeholders, while also supporting the development regulatory strategies associated with rulemaking activities, global mandates and emerging technologies. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to grow their knowledge and expertise of the global regulatory ecosystem while also building relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Research web-based publications from Regulatory Authorities around the globe to determine applicability to Boeing
  • Gather and document regulatory topics in database and email communication to identified stakeholders
  • Review and edit Boeing comments to regulatory consultations and prepare documents for submittal to Regulatory Authorities
  • Work with various Boeing groups to develop and execute regulatory strategies for global mandates
  • Work effectively as part of a highly motivated, diverse and globally distributed team.
  • Apply a safety-first, global and enterprise-wide mindset to all solutions
  • Work under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor degree
  • Level 3: 6+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in Business Process Consulting or problem definition

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience with the ODA procedures
  • Experience working with FAA or with the Boeing Safety and Airworthiness (SAW) processes
  • Experience with Microsoft tools and SharePoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Critical thinking experience
  • Experience communicating effectively and ability to collaborate with cross functional organizations and entities

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range:

  • Experienced (Level 3): $98,600 - $133,400
  • Senior (Level 4): $121,550 - $164,450
