Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Quality Production Specialist to join our team located in Fort Greely, AK.

This position supports technical activities in the area of product quality.in support of daily operational responsibilities in Fort Greely Alaska (FGA).  This position requires the individual to perform work tasks in an operational defense complex or at operational facilities, which will require the individual to train, understand, and observe extensive safety and process controls to help protect persons and equipment.

This position is for 1st shift, and supports a 24/7 operation and therefore, is subject to various work shifts and schedules, which change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Position Overview:

  • Travel may be required to support Boeing Team at other locations and off-site training up to 25% of the time, therefore must meet medical requirements for work in geographic areas with temperatures below -20 degrees F and lower.

  • Must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, travel in a silo basket (Maximum load capacity of 300 lbs.), work in confined spaces and work in and around ordnance.

  • Position requires ability to perform manual labor inside or outside, throughout the year, in a variety of extreme weather conditions.

  • Foster an environment of inclusion and interaction across functional boundaries to build upon the discipline and importance of first-pass quality

  • Training of production and maintenance task leaders and test conductors

  • Develop quality criteria and inspection points for supplier quality that monitors supply’s booster production used in final GBI production and current supplier selection.

  • RCCA and process improvement between maintenance, production, ground systems, and supplier quality.

Additional Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads multi-function, multi-site groups to develop company directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed.

  • Leads stakeholders in analysis of process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of complex problems and development and implementation of preventive or corrective actions.

  • Develops scope, schedule, plans and leads hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements, and reports results to management.

  • Works under minimal direction and makes tactical decisions.

  • Reviews and buys-off on material shipped or transferred from the site.

  • Understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, and concepts to both production flight hardware and in maintenance operatio

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads Quality reviews of proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development.

  • Develops Quality budget and cost estimates.

  • Leads multi-function, multi-site groups to develop company directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed.

  • Leads stakeholders in analysis of process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of complex problems and development and implementation of preventive or corrective actions.

  • Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics to continuously improve process capability.

  • Conducts quality source selection and process capability assessments of suppliers' ability to meet program quality requirements and support business decisions.

  • Develops Quality criteria for supplier source selection and a coordinated response for review and approval by senior management.

  • Develops scope, schedule, plans and leads hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements, and reports results to management.

  • Trains senior management on preparation for third party audits.

  • Analyzes data to provide material review dispositions for complex nonconforming materials, parts and equipment.

  • Assists in the development of new standard repairs for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment.

  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 5 years of experience in Quality

  • More than 3 year of experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)

  • More than 1 year of experience with Work Order and Non Conformance tracking systems (e.g. Manufacturing Enterprise Systems (MES), System Application Processes (SAP), etc.)

  • More than 1 year of of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years of experience analyzing data and generating metric reports to programmatic standards

  • 3+ years of experience with performing internal audits to AS9100 standards

  • 5+ years of experience with experience of gathering data and performing Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) while operating within Quality Management Systems

  • 5+ years of experience in Lean Six Sigma and process improvements

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range - USD 111,350 - 150,650
