Boeing Poland is currently seeking an Airspace Specialist to join our team in Gdansk, Poland.

The Airspace Specialist is responsible for the design, development, optimization, and implementation of airspace structures and instrument flight procedures supporting safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable air traffic operations.

The role contributes to international network performance through the application of FAA, ICAO, EASA, and EUROCONTROL frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance while enhancing operational capacity, flight efficiency, and stakeholder value.

Responsibilities:

  • Design develop and optimize airspace structures including en-route and terminal environments (including Instrument Flight Procedures ie. SIDs, STARs, Approaches, Holdings)., applying FAA and ICAO criteria, regional design standards and best practices.

  • Conduct airspace and obstacle evaluation, safeguarding, and terrain analysis.

  • Formulates and evaluates the need for airspace expansion and enhancements to improve flight efficiency and trajectory optimization.

  • Participate in procedure validation, simulation, and operational feasibility assessments and performance indicators.

  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into operational airspace solutions. (ICAO SARPs and PANS, FAA Orders and ACs, EASA regulatory frameworks, EUROCONTROL standards, RTCA and EUROCAE provisions)

  • Support Air Traffic Management (ATM) operational concept development.

  • Apply Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) concepts (RNAV, RNP, Advanced RNP).

  • Participate in cross-functional airspace workshops, projects and implementation programs. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in at least one of the following fields:

  • Airspace Operations / Design

  • Instrument Procedure Design

  • Airline or ATM operations

  • Aeronautical navigation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Instrument Flight Procedure Design knowledge (ICAO PANS-OPS).

  • ATM and ATC operational familiarity.

  • PBN implementation concepts.

  • Navigation database and aeronautical data experience.

  • Civil-military airspace management (ASM/FUA).

  • Experience within a Data house, ANSP, Airline, ATM, or aviation consultancy.

  • Degree in Aeronautics, ATM, or related discipline OR equivalent operational experience (ATCO, Pilot, Procedure Designer, Airspace Specialist).
