Position Overview:

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for a Vibroacoustics/Mechanical/Aerodynamics engineer to join the Vibration Shock and Acoustics team. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical or Aerodynamic engineering background with familiarity with design requirements, finite element modeling, hardware, qualification testing (familiarity with working in a laboratory environment), verification of hardware, and a passion for learning vibroacoustics. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conducts basic loads and dynamics analyses and tests for new and derivative vehicles.

  • Utilizes mathematical models, supports test execution, analyzes and reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

  • Participates in predictive analyses for vibration, acoustics, buffet, static and dynamic forces that act on a vehicle.

  • Supports the integration of structural, inertial, aerodynamic and systems definition for analyses.

  • Participates in defining and documenting certification and test results to ensure compliance with regulations, system design specifications. Supports failure investigations of in-service products and analyzes improvements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Familiarity with finite element modeling and Matlab

  • Experience with testing hardware in a laboratory setting

  • Willingness to travel to support hardware qualification testing

  • Familiarity with NASA Handbooks and Military Standards (MIL-STD-1540C and SMC-S-016)

  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Masters Degree or Higher in Mechanical Engineering or Aerodynamic Engineering

  • Vibration or Shock Testing experience

  • Experience with presenting to Chief Engineers and Senior Management leaders

  • Experience working with launch vehicles

summary pay range: $76,500 - $110,400
