As a Boeing employee, you’ll be part of a winning team that does great things every day. The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Mid-level Systems Test and Integration Engineer to join the Sapphire program.

This role is available at the following locations: Everett, WA; Seattle, WA; Renton, WA; Auburn, WA; Bellevue, WA; Huntington Beach, CA; Seal Beach, CA; Long Beach, CA; El Segundo, CA; Mesa, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Huntsville, AL; Plano, TX; San Antonio, TX; Arlington, VA; Ridley Park, PA; Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO

BDS Sapphire is the common core system for engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance subsystems that supports the BDS mission delivering a highly capable solution comprised of three core bedrocks to include Production Data Management (PDM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

This role will report to the Sapphire Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) leader and will consolidate subsystem requirements into a single, traceable system requirements set, drive system-level allocations and verification planning, and support system integration, verification, and validation activities from IPT unit testing through system test and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The role demands high-impact, creative solutions to complex technical problems, strong cross‑functional collaboration across Development and Delivery IPTs, and PIO governance, and the ability to provide critical support and independent technical review to ensure Sapphire delivers reliable, usable, and deployable solutions aligned with BDS objectives.

If you are passionate about Systems Engineering and want to be part of a dynamic team working on the Sapphire program, we encourage you to apply!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support System Test lead for system-level integration, verification, and validation activities across the Sapphire architecture (MES, PDM, ERP, I&I).

  • Consolidate subsystem requirements into a unified system requirements set and maintain end-to-end traceability through the authoritative digital thread.

  • Develop and implement verification strategies, test plans, integration plans, and test procedures spanning unit, IPT, system test, and UAT aligned with PIO milestones.

  • Coordinate architecture allocations and verification planning with Development and Delivery IPTs, and other stakeholders to ensure data consistency and interface integrity.

  • Operate and enhance SEIT toolchains and automation to improve requirements quality, test orchestration, and traceability reporting.

  • Lead cross-IPT integration events, validate interfaces and data flows using ICDs, and ensure realized interfaces meet architectural intent.

  • Plan and execute functional and performance verification events; ensure evidence is captured and presented for PIO milestone readiness and certification needs.

  • Triage, track, and resolve defects; govern baselines and configuration throughout integration and test cycles.

  • Perform systems-level analyses (reliability, maintainability, safety, testability, security, vulnerability, affordability) to inform design and verification trade studies.

  • Produce and maintain verification & validation matrices, test evidence bundles, technical performance reports, and risk registers.

  • Help lead cross-functional working groups, and drive process improvements using metrics and lessons learned.

This position may require up to 20% travel.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

  • Systems engineering experience with system integration, verification, and test leadership on complex embedded/software-intensive systems (preferably in enterprise-scale programs).

  • Demonstrated experience consolidating subsystem requirements into system-level requirements and maintaining requirements traceability through verification.

  • Experience coordinating architecture and verification planning with IT/IDT&S-like organizations and integrating across multiple IPTs.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute verification/validation plans from unit through UAT and to produce milestone-ready verification artifacts.

  • Familiarity with configuration management, defect tracking, baselines, and governance of test artifacts.

  • Strong background in systems modeling, verification methods, and use of tools for requirements management and test automation.

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Experience with PLM/MES/ERP integrations, middleware, ICDs, and digital thread concepts strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with SEIT and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) toolchains (requirements management, architecture development, interface definition, automated testing, traceability tools).

  • Strong analytical, risk management, and process measurement skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Prior experience on aerospace, defense, or large-scale integrated system programs; direct experience with MES, PDM, ERP integrations or the Sapphire architecture is highly desirable.
