Boeing Saudi Arabia is seeking for C-130 Aircrew Training Device (ATD) Flight Engineer to support training operations for the Royal Saudi Air Force at King Abdullah Air Base in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This role will focus on providing technical subject-matter expertise on C-130 aircraft systems during simulator sessions, supporting the Training Team with systems troubleshooting, configuration, testing, and verification of aircraft-system behaviors in the ATD. The on-site support personnel will serve as the Flight Engineer for the Aircrew Training Device (ATD), provide end-user technical support for system fidelity, and assist instructors and trainees with system-specific procedures and emergency/abnormal checklists. Additional support includes ensuring all simulator aircraft systems models and software are current, validating system parameters and sensor inputs, establishing regular backup sessions, and providing over-the-shoulder system support when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert flight engineer subject-matter support during simulator mission planning and training sessions, including aircraft systems operation, limitations, abnormal and emergency procedures, and system monitoring best practices.

  • Support set-up, calibration, and validation of C-130 systems models in the ATD (engines, propellers, fuel, electrical, environmental, pneumatics, hydraulic systems, landing gear, flight controls, and avionics interfaces).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve systems-related anomalies in the ATD, coordinating with technicians and instructors to restore full training capability.

  • Assist with testing, installation, configuration, and upgrades of aircraft-system software models and associated hardware components to ensure accurate system behavior.

Additional Team and Training Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to simulator instructors and technical staff on system-specific topics and flight engineer procedures.

  • Support development of course content and training materials related to flight engineer duties and systems management.

  • Promote teamwork and collaboration among instructors and technicians to enhance communication and improve training outcomes.

  • Establish and help maintain standard operating procedures for flight engineer instruction and system management in the ATD to ensure consistency and quality across sessions.

  • Evaluate effectiveness of system-based training elements, using trainee feedback and performance metrics to recommend improvements.

General Competencies:

  • Ensure assigned tasks are executed, tracked, and reported per plan.

  • Maintain effective and timely communication throughout the program lifecycle with the program team, stakeholders, and program management.

  • Receive, manage, protect, issue, track, and report the status of project-owned material related to system models and support equipment.

  • Identify and analyze risks, issues, problems, and opportunities related to simulator system fidelity and operations; synthesize data to make technical recommendations.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of simulator system models, processes, and training products.

  • Manage activities in accordance with Boeing processes and policies, leveraging existing tools.

  • Participate in investigations of incidents and ensure follow-up actions are documented and implemented.

  • Provide over-the-shoulder technical support to instructors and aircrew trainees during sessions, explaining system indications, effects of failures, and appropriate corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with simulator instructors to design, implement, and improve training scenarios that incorporate realistic system failures, abnormal procedures, and workload management for the flight engineer role.

  • Regularly assess the fidelity and performance of aircraft-system simulations and recommend adjustments to improve training realism.

  • Serve as a primary technical liaison for system-related matters between simulator instructors, technicians, program management, and RSAF stakeholders.

  • Participate in incident investigations involving system fidelity issues, near misses, or property damage tied to simulator system behavior; ensure corrective actions and proper documentation are completed.

  • Complete weekly reports of activities, system status, concerns, and accomplishments.

This is an open term contract and subject to contract award.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 5 years’ previous work experience required, with a focus on C-130 flight engineer duties, aircraft systems, or simulator systems supporting flight engineer training.

  • Experience in an operational flight engineer role or as a systems instructor supporting simulator-based training.

  • Proven ability to develop and deliver system-focused training content, and to assess training needs and outcomes for flight engineer tasks.

  • Strong understanding of C-130 aircraft systems, abnormal/emergency procedures, and flight engineer responsibilities.

  • Practical troubleshooting skills for aircraft systems and simulator system models.

  • Basic understanding of backup technologies and procedures for simulator configurations.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and coordinate activities with RSAF.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Excellent English reading, writing, and communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor and guide instructors and technical staff.

  • Experience preparing proposals, presentations, clarifications, and technical reports for all levels of stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Professional applications (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
