The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Software Engineer–Simulation (Virtual) to support our High-Fidelity Virtual Cab (HFVC) team located in Long Beach, California to contribute to the development and integration of airplane models, simulations and hardware emulations using high fidelity Unreal game engine visualizations of Boeing aircrafts and flight decks.

In this role, the Simulation Requirements Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the Program-Intake, decomposition of Software Requirements, milestones and deliveries, and validation of Integration & Test.   You will be the critical connection between our software developers and the program. The Simulation Requirements Engineer would require strong technical experience and be self-driving to clearly communicate this plan and develop statements of work for our technical engineers. The Simulation Requirements Engineer would be responsible for tracking and reporting progress and help needed to leadership.

The ideal candidate is a leader, self-starter, enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-program environment. This position will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. The candidate should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies. This is a customer facing role, where the Simulation Requirements Engineer serves as a strong advocate for enterprise software solutions, bringing multiple teams into alignment on product roadmaps and deliverables. This position requires the candidate to have a product delivery mindset and be fluent in software requirements, integration, and testing. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Hold discussions with our Boeing programs, understanding their requirements and needs

  • Working with the senior engineers and architects to develop clear technical statement of works for our engineers to execute

  • Track technical work of engineers in Gitlab and report progress and help needed to leadership

  • Help maintain an integrated schedule

  • Identify Risks and Issues with mitigation plans.

  • Coordinate with program(s) to ensure technical execution of our product lines meets the needs of the programs

  • Coordination across functional teams, focused on dependencies between groups

This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Ability to obtain a U.S Secret Security Clearance Post-Start

  • 5+ years of experience in C/C++ programming

  • 3+ years of experience with technical project management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 3+ years of experience using GitLab and/or Jira

  • 5+ years interfacing with program customers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient within at least one programming language, preferably C++

  • Experience delivering products to Customers/Stakeholders

  • Experience decomposing requirements and generating statements of work

  • Experience with Cloud technologies, such as AWS or Azure

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical issues within the team and management

Travel: Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for Experienced Level (Virtual): $102,850 - $159,850
