Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring an Industrial Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to support the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) program in El Segundo, CA! This role is responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing and taking electronic assemblies from prototype (XVT) to mass production (MP) build quantities and quality levels.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.

  • Develops plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.

  • Evaluates new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.

  • Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.

  • Conducts work flow design and analysis.

  • Develops models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders and customers.

  • Researches, designs, develops, improves, and implements processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.

  • Develops and implements plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.

  • Supports execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices.

  • Provides production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering role

  • Experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment

  • Experience with R&D for advanced manufacturing and process automation in electronics assembly manufacturing

  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing and taking electronic assemblies from prototype (XVT) to production build quantities and quality levels

  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) planning, execution, and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or Systems Engineering

  • Experience with database management (SQL) and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, JIRA)

  • Experience with process modeling (Simio or Promodel)

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)

  • Experience with applying LEAN manufacturing, root cause analysis, structured problem solving and improvement projects

  • Proficient in developing project schedules and resource analysis

  • Experience with new equipment Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) development and execution, as well as Gauge Reliability and Repeatability (GR&R) testing for validation of automated equipment.

  • Experience with developing Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL), performing Defect Pareto analysis and Yield Bridging exercises to drive processes to MP ready yields

  • Electrical CAD experience (Mentor Graphics, Allegro, Altium) for designing adapter electronics or custom sensor electronics for automated processes and equipment.

  • Mechanical CAD experience (Creo, Solidworks, NX, Catia) for designing tools, fixtures, end effectors, and other support equipment for automated processes and equipment.

  • Experience with automation software development (labview, matlab, python, etc) and software version control management in a production environment (github, etc)

  • Experience with precision alignment systems for microelectronics mechanical assembly

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $92,650 - $125,350

Summary pay range for Senior: $109,650 - $148,350
