The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking experienced ExperiencedFabrication Specialist in areas such as GFM (Ply cutter), automated fiber placement, autoclave, composite hand lay-up, and paint to join the Air Dominance Operations team working in the Advanced Composite Fabrication Center (ACFC) located in Mesa, AZ.   This position will require strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively work with the build team to support various proprietary programs. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops lay-up and assembly set-ups and techniques for the fabrication of composite structural and assemblies.

  • Sets up and troubleshoots composite parts for assembly or layup.

  • Assembles, lays up, or supports via autoclave, GFM, and other processes the fabrication of parts and components. Identify nonconforming detail parts, assemblies and processes. Work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes.

  • Fabricate composite detail parts using various pre-prep composite materials and/or wet layup processes. Locate station lines, index points, and E.O.P lines to establish exact locations of ply installations and components.

  • Assemble and install detail composite and metallic components by bonding, sealing, cementing, and riveting to engineering specifications.

  • Set up, weigh, mix and apply composite adhesives per engineering and company specifications.

  • Prep and apply required release agents to composite prototype and or production tooling per company specifications.

  • Working knowledge of composite material bonding best practices, FOD control and prevention.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

  • Must have High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

  • Must be able to work 2nd Shift

  • Must have 3 or more years of experience in Composites

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher preferred

  • Experience with set up and operate of GFM (ply cutter)

  • Experience with set up and operate of automated fiber placement

  • Experience with aerospace or automotive spray-painting operations

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Salary Range:

Level C $53,550 to $72,450

Level D $61,200 to $82,800
