Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Numerical Control Programmer (Mid-Level or Senior) (Level 3 or 4) to join our Numerical Control (NC) Programming team in New Orleans, Louisiana.

As a part of the NC Programming team, you will be responsible for the NC programming for the manufacturing of flight articles. You will work with machinists and metrology on compensations for hardware to meet drawing specifications. The NC programmer may also support other areas in the factory such as robotic programming for machining and spray foam application. The NC programmer must also be open to learning additional equipment to support the program such as water jet, tube bender, and laser tracker.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides numerical control, machining and programming technical experience.

  • Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility.

  • Plans, creates, verifies and revises Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry and documentation that directs the operations for a complete spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools and assemblies for departmental work.

  • Plans and guides the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment.

  • Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Ability to read blueprints with understanding of Dimensioning and Tolerancing

  • Ability to work on your own with minimal supervision

  • 3+ years of experience with programing, setting-up and running lathes, grinders, mills, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines

  • 3+ years of experience machining tight tolerance, high value components

  • Must have excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt to changing environments and work statements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working with large structures 

  • 3+ years of machine shop experience

  • 5+ years of experience working with Catia V5 programming

  • 5+ years of experience programming in Vericut

Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Mid-Level (Level 3) Summary pay range: $85,000 - $115,000

Senior (Level 4) Summary pay range: $102,000 - $138,000
