Boeing AvionX is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Level 4) to join our team in Plano, Texas to support AvionX Engineering and Process & Tools activities.

Boeing AvionX develops and produces avionics and electronics systems designed for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems, and other core avionics functions. We have set our sights high – to design, develop, and manufacture the most technically advanced and reliable avionic components in the world. We are innovating and developing new products to address the future of the urban air mobility as well as our next generation of commercial, tactical, and trainer aircraft markets.

We are seeking a detailed Project Engineer with a strong background in engineering data, financials, analysis, and execution. We are looking for someone who has a penchant for obtaining key facts and data and making lasting and impactful changes and who is a self-motivated individual that is interested in growing their overall engineering and business knowledge in the support of product development related to avionics.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Focal project engineer for Director and Integrating Sr. Managers for core AvionX engineering operations activities, including creation and management of engineering budgets (IAD, Overhead), staffing and talent acquisition plans, project tracking, performance to plan, and Earned Value Management (EVM) activities.

  • Focal project engineer for the development and implementation of complex engineering initiatives, including rollout of major engineering and software tools, lean and quality projects, and key Process & Tools priorities.

  • Responsible for the planning, road-mapping, resource identification, and execution of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools and software packages.

  • Draws insightful data-anchored observations that improve engineering management, workforce efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Develops concise and pointed engineering presentations to drive communication and execution of AvionX Engineering goals and priorities.

  • Maintain and provide detailed engineering metrics and KPI’s on all associated projects.

  • Oversees AvionX Lab management activities across multiple sites within the United States.

  • Proposes new projects and initiatives based on findings and experience within the organization.

The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at the listed location. This position will operate on a regular schedule, being 5 days onsite.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering development

  • 3+ years of experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing and analyzing data

  • 3+ years of experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, engineers, writers, product managers and software developers

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Independent individual with a high sense of urgency and autonomy to execute projects from beginning to end

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on leadership / Proactive and collaborative with an influential and motivating approach to work

  • Experience with advanced Avionics/or electronics programs and Line Replaceable Units (LRU) development

  • Detailed understanding of product development and the engineering gated milestone process

  • Experience in operating in a new team with ambiguity and high autonomy

  • Experience in digital transformation projects and complex tool and software deployments

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $122,400 - $165,600
