Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an experienced and driven First-Line Manufacturing Manager (CNC Machining) to join our Actuation Systems Machining Team

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Aerospace machining with a quality and safety focused mindset. The Actuations business team manufactures over 500 unique part numbers across over 110 machines.  Our business is focused on gear cutting, grinding, broaching, hobbing, shaping, turning, milling, and hand finishing to produce a variety of gears and shafts for mechanical actuators.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage employees performing activities in machining operations

  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies by partnering with all shift leaders to build a one cohesive plan

  • Utilize root cause analysis tools to problem solve complex issues

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Portland, OR.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience leading and managing teams

  • Experience with CNC and Manual machines

  • Basic understanding of GD&T

  • Ability to read and interpret a drawing/blueprint

  • Experience building, developing, and motivating employees from different backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with CNC and Manual machining operations, Aerospace or similar industry preferred

  • Experience with applying and interpreting GD&T ASME Y14.5 standard to manufacture or design detail components

  • Experience managing a represented work force

  • Degree and/or Certificates in Manufacturing, Engineering, and /or Machining

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range: $103,700 -$140,300
