Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Customer Support Flight Engineering Manager to support the Customer Support - Flight Operations team located in Rzeszow, Poland.

The main role of this position will be to manage teams of engineers who provide engineering support to our customers worldwide. Our engineers respond to technical inquiries from customers related to Flight Operation and Fleet. The Flight Operations Engineering (FLOE) Organization routinely supports resolution of in-service issues and provides 24/7 support to our Commercial Airplanes customers. As a manager, you will provide key support to employees working with our internal Boeing stakeholders as well as our customers, regulators, and industry partners to provide the highest quality products and services to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. You will also work within FLOE on continual improvement of our internal processes and tools, employee development and engagement, and other key initiatives. This position requires an individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills who is comfortable interacting with diverse cultures and effectively collaborating with our core team in Seal Beach, California.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities within multiple Engineering disciplines.

  • Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

  • Oversee team performance and have accountability of managing team metrics.

  • Responsible for setting and meeting operational goals.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, Global peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Assess team skill level continuously and facilitate skill development.

  • Responsible to create an environment that allows for synergy between Seal Beach team and create a seamless support structure to address Customer request in a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 5+ years of experience in support of aerospace products, which should include commercial and/or military airplanes.

  • 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team.

  • 2+ years of experience working with external customers and stakeholders on short flow deliverables.

  • Ability to communicate in both verbal and written English.

  • Existing authorization to work in Poland.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Proven ability to embrace change, lead continuous improvement, and treat safety and quality as top priorities.

  • Experience and success leading complex technical projects across multiple disciplines.

  • Knowledge of industry trends (customers, regulators, competitors, etc).

  • Willingness and ability to manage ambiguity and turn it into action.

  • Experience working in Flight Operations Engineering or dispatch related work.

  • Experience working directly with team members in various locations around the globe.

  • The individual must be ready to spend up to 20% of working time in business trips. The main destination is US, California.

  • Experience using tracking and reporting tools.

This position is expected to be full time onsite with some limited telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Rzeszow, Poland.
