The Boeing Company’s Information Technology and Data Analytics (IT&DA) and Engineering & Product Support organization is currently seeking a Senior Technology Data Specialist focusing on the Aircraft Maintenance to join the Product Support Engineering team in either Seal Beach, CA or Seattle, WA

This organization partners internally with Boeing Commercial Services – Customer Support organization and enables the creation and delivery of technical manuals and related content for airlines and maintenance engineering organization. This position provides technical leadership to a team of business and technical developers and subject matter experts that support maintenance engineering deliverables for both commercial airlines and mil-derivative customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads multiple components with maintenance engineering authoring and publishing systems

  • Leads creation and management of strategic and transition roadmaps including data migration and reuse

  • Leads design discussions to support new business requirements and solve production issues

  • Publishes and presents to technology leaders and business executives

  • Provides leadership around technical solutions and collaborate with other technologists on creating end-to-end solutions

  • Assists the business in the scoping and planning of upcoming products and features

  • Prioritizes development activities across multiple teams and systems

  • Leads and supports architectural standards and decisions, and defines the logical, conceptual and physical architecture for maintenance engineering systems

  • Coordinates with business unit executes organizations and execute detailed test plans for major block point releases

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with technical data and publications for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in developing large scale system modernization architectures

  • 3+ years of experience in statistical data analysis, process control, process capability, and/or failure mode analysis

  • 3+ years of experience in a software development leadership role

  • 3+ years of experience with analyzing and interpreting engineering data for inclusion into maintenance manuals and technical publications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with airplane maintenance engineering, support processes, and maintenance documentation/publication processes

  • Experience investigating, analyzing, and resolving complex application questions and problems, including development of system requirements, enhancements, scenarios, testing, integration tasks, analysis, and life cycle processing of requirements

  • Experience with aircraft configuration and maintenance business unit authoring groups, as well as Airline Data Delivery teams and both Commercial and Military customer requirements

  • Experience with database design/data architecture and authoring/publishing systems and output deliverables

  • Experience with standard generalized markup language (SGML) authoring, ATA, and S1000D

  • Experience presenting to executive leadership

  • Experience in Agile methodologies, with the ability to blend them in cross-team development and implementation

  • Experience with DevSecOps

  • Experience in the development of complex systems

Typical Education & Experience:

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $118,150 – $159,850

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 5): $138,550 – $187,450
