BGS Supply Engineering is seeking a Technical Designer to join our Packaging Design Engineering team out of the Spares Distribution Center supporting the Repair Station there. You'll collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Tooling and Suppliers to define parts packaging designs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains engineering product definition by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies to satisfy customer and production requirements

  • Coordinates engineering product definition with internal/external parties

  • Verifies engineering data by ensuring compliance to standards and integration of parts, instructions and tools

  • Investigates manufacturing processes or engineering related issues

  • Develops and validates new processes and procedures to increase product quality and affordability

  • Uses computer software to create drawings and models to meet parts packaging requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent completed requirements

  • Technical Skills: Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders

  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement changes in a fast-paced environment

  • Willing to work overtime as needed to support production & shipping

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Drafting, Design, Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution

  • Experience: 1+ years of related work experience

  • Ability to apply existing skills, learn computer design software and contribute with minimum supervision

  • Experience with drawings and design

  • Experience with mechanical and structures aircraft commodities

  • Experience with PDM, REDARS, and CATIA

Summary pay range: $51,000 - $69,000
