KC-46 BGS Engineering is seeking a proactive System Engineering Manager to lead the KC-46 Sustainment SEIT team in Tukwila, WA or Everett, WA. The BGS KC-46 SEIT team has responsibility for technical systems integration across BGS, BDS, and BCA stakeholders, reliability and maintainability engineering, and digital tools and analytics services. The successful candidate is a high performing engineering leader who can develop and build a multi-skilled team through embracing challenge and creating structure. This position will report directly to the KC-46 Sustainment Chief Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages, motivates, and helps develop team to ensure team skills align with SEIT RAA and are applied against SOW to meet team deliverables and milestones.
  • Leads engineering team responsible for: spec verification / integration during proposal development, Reliability & Maintenance activities, performs and support System Engineering (Safety, Airworthiness, CM/DM), perform and manage RIO process and CDRL development and delivery process.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering and Boeing Company processes.
  • Ensures customer commitments are understood, documented, communicated, and delivered on-time with first-time quality.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Monitors and executes to a planned budget to support Earned Value Management best practices.
  • Partners with other functional managers across BGS and BDS to obtain resource commitments necessary to successfully accomplish program objectives within budget and schedule. 
  • Coordinates supplier requirements support with Supplier Requirements Engineering (SRE) capability leaders.
  • Manages appropriate staffing and skill sets to meet team deliverables.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering leadership (as a lead or in a leadership position on projects or programs).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with military aircraft sustainment and post-production modifications
  • Previous management experience
  • Experience in systems engineering, including requirements development, compliance approach, and verification
  • Experience with program management best practices including work package planning, managing cost and schedule, and reporting variances.
  • Experience with Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities and earned value management.

Travel:
Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.

Summary pay range: $147,050 – $198,950
