Electronic & Electrical Systems Design

Responsibilities

  • Partner with a team of highly experienced engineers to develop design solutions to complex problems.
  • Develop electronic and electrical systems requirements to support actual system design, development, build and deployment of hardware.
  • Partner with suppliers, providing functional requirements while overseeing development and prototyping.
  • Team with senior engineers to solve problems with fielded hardware and software.
  • Integrate developed hardware and validate performance parameters on designated platforms.

Electrical Power Product Design Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior power engineers to develop complex power system requirements.
  • Develop hardware, software and interface specifications.
  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

Electronic Product Design

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of analog circuit design principles (e.g., frequency, voltage, thermal, bandwidth, mismatch) to design, simulate and layout circuit boards.
  • Apply knowledge of analog microcircuit design principles (e.g., frequency, voltage, thermal, bandwidth, mismatch) to design, simulate, layout, and package analog integrated circuits, hybrids, and multi-chip modules.
  • Ability to analyze problems (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of company products using knowledge of engineering disciplines (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
  • Knowledge of circuit design tools (e.g., Spice, Mentor Graphics, Hardware Description Language [HDL]).
  • Knowledge of digital circuit design parameters (e.g., throughput, rise time, clock frequencies, propagation delay) and hardware description languages (e.g., Hardware Description Language [HDL], Verilog).
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces, high order languages), and characteristics (e.g., throughput, processing architecture, timing, capacity).
  • Apply knowledge of digital microcircuit design principles, parameters (e.g., static timing, clock skew, throughput, rise time, clock frequencies, propagation delay, signal integrity) and hardware description languages (e.g., VHDL, Verilog) to design, simulate, synthesize, layout and package digital integrated circuits, embedded cores (e.g., processor, memory, phase-locked loop [PLL], serializer/deserializer), hybrids, and multi-chip modules.
  • Knowledge of electrical test methodology (e.g., stand-alone bench, automated, integration laboratory, simulation, functional test), planning, procedures, equipment (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope, bus analyzer, automated test systems) and result validation criteria (e.g., pass/fail, control limits, tolerances).
  • Apply knowledge of semiconductor physics to the development, design, analysis, test, and validation of integrated circuits.

Electrical Design Integration

Responsibilities

  • Work with all levels of the organization to develop integration details for Electronic and Electrical Engineering Hardware.
  • Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs; as well as electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing, geometry, and antennas).
  • Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
  • Document processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Analyze functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design and system architecture.

Electromagnetic Effects

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures.
  • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component and interconnects performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
  • Define and conduct tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.
  • Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by recommending engineering solutions to issues.

Electrophysics

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of technical experts to develop and validate requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components.
  • Design and develop communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components to determined requirements.
  • Assist to develop architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platforms.
  • Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
  • Define and conduct tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.
