System Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Analyze accident, incident, event, and systems performance data to determine safety risk levels.
  • Identify and analyze potential safety hazards in design, operational procedures, maintenance practices, and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate analyses for Safety Review Board and Engineering Investigation Board reviews and corrective actions through the functional design organizations and various government agencies.

Airworthiness Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Develop interim or final certification solutions for technical issues in coordination with the customers.
  • Assist with analysis to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements.
  • Integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Assist with analysis to optimize system architecture.
  • Assist with analysis for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, system security, product assurance and other specialty quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.

Airplane Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety design and analysis expertise to program stakeholders and leadership.
  • Lead airplane-level safety analysis like Runway Excursion or Airplane Common Mode to ensure integration across multiple functional systems.
  • Develops certification strategies for systems and airplane-level safety issues.
  • Execute airplane-level threat analysis (bird strike, rotor burst, cargo fire, tire and wheel failures, etc.).
  • Utilize Model Based System Engineering tools to analyze architecture/design and conduct safety analysis.
