Apprenticeship program builds rewarding careers
Our technical apprentice program is training and graduating teammates into full-time manufacturing roles.

Published July 1, 2026

Over the past 12 months, the St. Louis Boeing Technical Apprentice Program (BTAP) has helped students from unique backgrounds, including long careers in other industries, to become skilled aerospace production teammates.

  • This 15-week learning pathway, recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, combines rigorous classroom instruction with hands-on training.
  • It emphasizes safety, quality and ownership, preparing apprentices to build highly advanced aircraft such as the F-15, MQ-25, T-7 and future programs.

Why are apprenticeship programs important?

Programs like BTAP offer apprentices a clear path to build a rewarding career at Boeing, while addressing the growing demand for highly skilled talent to support our programs.

Today more than 260 apprenticeship applicants have graduated into full-time roles, most working on our F-15 and 777X programs.

How does Boeing’s apprenticeship program work?

  • The BTAP curriculum includes 10 weeks of foundational skills instruction.
  • Participants experience five weeks of advanced shop-floor simulation.
  • Training uses actual Boeing drawings and work instructions to replicate shop conditions.
  • Instructors maintain a rigorous classroom environment that mirrors the shop floor.
  • Hands-on sessions focus on safety, quality and ownership of work.
  • Apprentices collaborate and support one another through challenging lessons and projects.
  • Training takes place at the St. Louis Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing Building and Boeing’s Manufacturing Training Center.
