Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) has an exciting opportunity for a Metrology Tooling Mechanic to support our team in Berkeley, MO!

The selected candidates apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement and test equipment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibration and testing of precision measuring instruments according to established internal procedures as well as industry standards and specifications
  • Fabricate and modify calibration fixtures as needed to ensure accurate measurements
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment
  • Measures parts for conformity with specifications using measuring standards
  • Analysis and interpretation of testing result data
  • Identifies out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action
  • Repair of equipment as necessary
  • Competency with calibration software
  • Preparing calibration reports and certificates
  • Ensure traceability of each calibration through clear and precise documentation
  • Maintain calibration records and documentation in compliance with quality standards in calibration management data base

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in a calibration and/or testing laboratory (calibrating precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, rings, intermikes and/or indicators)
  • 1+ years of experience calibrating measurement and test equipment (calibrating with process instrumentation, including flow, analytical instruments, temperature, pressure and level)
  • 1+ year of experience calibrating torque wrenches and systems (calibrating with manual and pneumatic torque)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prior PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) experience
  • Experience operating a laser tracker or CMM

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

Union:

  • This is a union-represented position
  • This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinist (IAM 837) Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.
  • New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required

Shift:

  • The candidate must be able to work any shift assigned

Relocation:

  • Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense

Summary pay range: $30.00/hour – $53.27/hour
