Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer (Level 5) to join the Air Dominance team in Berkeley or Hazelwood, MO.

As a key technical leader within our engineering organization, you will report directly to the Program Chief Architect. This role is pivotal in ensuring that complex, multi-domain capabilities are synchronized into a cohesive, high-performance weapon system. If you thrive on solving multi-functional technical challenges and want to influence the future of next-generation air warfare, this is the role for you.

The Mission

You will serve as a bridge between high-level architectural intent and technical execution. Your mission is to maintain the integrity of the weapon system through rigorous technical performance management and collaborative integration across the program’s Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). You will act as an agent of influence, guiding cross-functional teams to resolve complex integration hurdles and ensuring the program remains aligned with mission-critical performance requirements.

Position Responsibilities

  • Technical Performance Management: Oversee and manage Technical Performance Measures (TPMs), ensuring all system metrics align with program objectives.
  • Trade Study Leadership: Conduct and lead rigorous trade studies to balance mission capability, affordability, and integration maturity.
  • Community Leadership: Serve as an integral member of the Community of Architects, collaboratively driving critical program decisions and architectural strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Collaborate with IPT architects to lead multiple technical functions, solving complex, multi-functional integration challenges without direct hierarchical control.
  • Communication: Translate complex technical details for subject-matter experts while effectively relaying status and strategic risks to executive leadership.
  • Integration Expertise: Proven experience in the integration of multiple disparate, complex systems within a large-scale development program.
  • Systems Engineering Proficiency: Deep understanding of Systems Engineering processes, tools, and the end-to-end product lifecycle.
  • Technical Breadth: Demonstrated experience across multiple weapon system technical functions or capabilities.
  • Influence & Resilience: The ability to step out of your technical comfort zone, maintain curiosity, and remain resilient in the face of complex technical challenges.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: A proactive approach to seeking out work, maintaining awareness across the program, and influencing efforts across various IPTs to ensure program success.
