The Boeing Company is seeking a Systems Engineer (Mid-Level & Senior) to serve as the SCARS focal—leading adoption, interpretation, and enforcement of Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) across the F-15 USAF simulator programs in Berkeley, MO. The role emphasizes systems requirements engineering, standards harmonization, and cross-program governance to ensure simulator architectures meet SCARS guidance when possible and enable interoperability, reusability, and sustainment.

F-15 Training Systems provides trainers to USAF facilities throughout the US and at OCONUS locations to support warfighters.  The F-15 Training systems include high fidelity cockpits with immersive visualization systems, high fidelity computer generated forces to provide synthetic opponents to train against, and applications providing instructors control over training setup, execution and post-training debrief.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the program SCARS focal and technical authority for simulator architecture standards and required artifacts
  • Develop, review, and enforce system-level requirements, ICDs, and compliance matrices ensuring alignment to SCARS
  • Translate SCARS standards into program-specific requirements and acceptance criteria; maintain traceability
  • Coordinate with program systems engineers, software, simulation/Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) leads, and Program Managers to drive standards adoption
  • Lead conformance reviews, audits, and gap analyses; generate remediation plans and verification strategies
  • Maintain and evolve SCARS artifacts, templates, and guidance
  • Provide subject-matter expertise during design reviews, integration planning, and supplier/vendor compliance checks
  • Mentor junior systems engineers on requirements best practices, MBSE/SysML usage, and verification traceability
  • Support accreditation, cybersecurity, and configuration management activities tied to SCARS compliance

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements may be required for these positions.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years’ systems engineering experience with emphasis on system requirements development, management, and verification
  • Experience authoring and reviewing high-quality system requirements, ICDs, and compliance matrices
  • Experience with management and requirements traceability
  • Excellent written/oral communication with ability to produce standards artifacts and lead cross-functional reviews

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience (Senior Level 4)
  • Boeing or defense simulation standards experience, SCARS exposure preferred.
  • Experience with simulator architectures, DMO/Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) concepts, HLA/DIS/CIGI or similar standards
  • Experience with MBSE/SysML tools and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
  • Experience with verification/validation planning, test-case derivation from requirements, and after action review artifacts

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range Mid-Level (Level 3): $112,200- $151,800

Summary Pay Range Senior (Level 4): $136,850- $185,150
