About the role 

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the MQ-28 Program Integration Office. Applicants will have demonstrated experience in project management execution, as well as governance of PM related processes and systems within complex project environments. Experience within Defence Industry will be favourably regarded.

The successful candidate will be centrally embedded in the PMO, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely and reliable services and outcomes to enable program success. As part of this team, you will balance programmatic governance through adherence and execution to MQ-28 processes, with complex task and change management activities that align project delivery with MQ-28 Program Priorities.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Lead the planning, execution, tracking, and reporting of complex projects within the MQ-28 PMO team, through initiation of change to execution and project closure
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones and status reporting across multiple reporting and contract lines
  • Coordinate across external customers, internal stakeholders, and program leadership to align project delivery with business and capability objectives.
  • Ensure timely communication of project status, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure all activities are executed in accordance with applicable policies, contractual obligations, and compliance requirements as relevant to each project
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as required to maintain schedule and execution integrity.
  • Develop business cases proposed for new scope inclusion to MQ-28 Program, with recommendations on feasibility for future requests

About you

You are an experienced project manager and creative problem solver who will bring technical skills, effective communication and relationship building strengths to support the MQ-28 Program. You are someone who is comfortable working autonomously and as part of a wider community to seek and drive continuous improvement. 

  • You lean into problems through the lens of program Risks, Issues, Opportunities and execution drivers.
  • You know your audience and deliver forward focused, risk-based analytics, advice and solutions
  • You have experience working within a Program or Project Management Office;
  • You have high level communication and negotiation skills with a strong focus on building successful relationships with a broad range of stakeholders;
  • You have demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to exert influence at multiple organisational levels;
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
