About the role

Boeing Defence Australia delivers critical defence capability across Australia and New Zealand through innovative engineering and trusted technical support.

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Training Scheduler Lead to join the P-8A Poseidon Training team at RAAF Base Edinburgh. In this important role, you will coordinate and optimise training activity across the P-8A Poseidon capability, helping ensure aircrew and maintenance personnel are trained, current, and mission-ready.

Working in a fast-paced Defence environment, you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating training activities for Flight Crew, Mission Crew, and Maintenance personnel, while supporting the seamless delivery of the broader training continuum. You will play a key role in maintaining training continuity, maximising asset availability, and supporting the effective use of synthetic training devices and associated systems.

Responsibilities:

As a Training Scheduler Lead, you will:

  • Coordinate training schedules: Plan and manage training activities across Flight Crew, Mission Crew, and Maintenance personnel to support operational readiness.
  • Support course delivery: Assist in the successful coordination of the full training continuum, including booking and allocation of synthetic training devices.
  • Manage device availability: Support the programming of simulation device upgrade activities and asset allocation to align with training requirements and minimise disruption.
  • Analyse performance and utilisation: Conduct training system health and utilisation analysis, producing reports to support performance measurement frameworks and informed decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively: Partner with stakeholders across training, operations, engineering, and support functions to ensure efficient and effective training delivery.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong coordination skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. You will be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders and confident using scheduling tools, data, and reporting to support training outcomes.

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Resource and asset scheduling experience in a complex operational or training environment
  • Experience in Defence operational flying squadrons, or a similar high-tempo environment, including use of flight programming tools
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Configuration and data management experience, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of Defence training requirements and the importance of compliance, continuity, and readiness

Desirable

  • Experience coordinating training support for aviation, maintenance, or mission systems personnel
  • Familiarity with synthetic training devices, simulation environments, or training asset management
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data and present findings clearly
  • A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem solving in a Defence setting

Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet Defence security requirements and must be willing to undergo the standard government vetting process, including a full life background check. BDA will sponsor and support the required clearance process.
