Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Mission Systems (SMS) Division, seeks an End-to-End Space Systems Engineer (Experienced or Lead) (Level 3 or 4) to join our team in El Segundo, California.

Our team works with Commercial, Government, and Proprietary Customers in the development and deployment of next-generation technologies and systems in Space. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide high impact, creative solutions to complex technical problems, the ability to work as part of a large team, and the ability to provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage Space Segment External Interfaces, including development of Interface Control Documents (ICD) as required by contract

  • Perform system requirements and verification planning and execution

  • Responsible for the maintaining the requirements trace and Verification Cross-Reference Matrix (VCRM) for system level requirements

  • Develop and Model Space Segment Intersegment CONOPS

  • Develop and maintain System Design Documents (SDDs)

  • Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering processes and tools to develop and maintain the System Architecture Model

  • Perform system trade studies and System level analyses

  • Develop Intersegment Test Plans, including requirements for demonstrations and test beds

  • Support Execution of System Operational test and evaluation activities

  • Responsible for system level requirements verification and selloff

  • Must be able travel locally on an infrequent basis

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • 3+ years of experience in systems integration with systems engineering processes and procedures

  • 3+ years of experience in satellite system design, development or test

  • Experience with architecture, ConOps and Requirements for space based systems and associated ground support systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • 3+ years of experience within the aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry

  • Experience interfacing with customers, collaborating with other defense contractors, program office, and across interdisciplinary teams

  • Experience leading technical teams or projects

  • Experience with integration of Space, Ground, and User Terminal CONOPS

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Experienced (Level 3) Summary pay range: $119,850 - $162,150

Lead (Level 4) Summary pay range: $146,200 - $197,800
