The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level Materials, Process, & Physics Tech Analyst specializing in Metals and Assembly to join theE&TI Advanced Metals team in Huntsville, AL.

Boeing is seeking a highly skilled Metals and Assembly Technical Analyst to join our research and development team in Huntsville, Alabama. This individual contributor role focuses on CNC programming, setup, and machining to support the development, qualification, and selection of metals and assembly processes. The successful candidate will program and operate CNC equipment to fabricate prototypes and test specimens, aiding in material and process development initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Program, setup, and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes to fabricate prototype parts and test specimens
  • Design, develop, and machine tooling fixtures and prototype equipment to support metals qualification and process development
  • Collaborate with engineering and materials teams to support the development and selection of metals and assembly processes
  • Analyze prototype parts for manufacturability, functionality, and adherence to engineering specifications and quality standards
  • Assist in testing and validating new materials, processes, and tooling approaches by producing test articles and evaluating machining outcomes
  • Document machining procedures, test setups, and results to support technical reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Interface directly with internal customers and external stakeholders to support metals and assembly development activities at the Huntsville site
  • Maintain lab organization, perform routine maintenance of equipment, and uphold good housekeeping practices to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Work in a team-oriented environment, providing technical expertise and training to support colleagues and development efforts

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Do you have 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience?
  • 3+ years of experience as a machine operator, writing and editing CNC programs
  • 3+ experience with reading and interpreting engineering documents and drawings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strong safety focus and experience working within regulated aerospace environments supporting quality and process compliance
  • Knowledge of metals processing techniques and testing including machining, heat treating, mechanical testing of metals (tensile and fatigue) and other test methods to evaluate material performance, ensure reliability, and verify adherence to engineering requirements and specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and apply agile, innovative approaches to develop machining solutions that support research, development, and prototype fabrication challenges

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $64,600 - $87,400
