The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia is proud to support the Boeing CH-47F Chinook aircraft in Australia in partnership with our Australian Army customer. The Boeing CH-47F Chinook is one of the world's most iconic aircraft and has long been the heavy-lift helicopter of choice for military forces around the world. Its tandem rotor configuration and advanced cargo-handling capabilities are uniquely suited to multi-domain operations. The Chinook is the largest helicopter in the Australian Army fleet. It has been vital to Australia's military, peacetime and humanitarian efforts for 50 years, providing domestic and international support for missions from disaster relief and search and rescue to medical evacuation and military troop lift.

Boeing Defence Australia has been contracted since 2016 to provide support under the Chinook Integrated Support Services (CISS) Contract. Working in close partnership with the Australian Army, we provide a range of support services for the Australian Army's CH-47F Chinook fleet at multiple locations.

We are seeking the services of a Project Coordinator in a key supporting role for our CISS Leadership Team. This position is located at the RAAF Base in Townsville, this is the main operating base for the CH-47F fleet, where a team of approximately fifty BDA personnel work alongside our Army customer. Townsville is the largest of our CISS sites, here you will support our On-site Manager on day to day basis and from Townsville you will also provide remote support to other CISS Leadership Team members at our other locations.

We are looking for a temporary (12 months) Coordinator that has excellent communication skills both written and verbal. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working both autonomously and participating collaboratively across teams. We are looking for someone who is proactive and approachable and who will relish becoming a valuable member of this team.

As the Project Coordinator you will report directly to the CISS Program Manager and your duties will include the following:

  • Maintenance and development of Project Jira, Confluence and Sharepoint repositories
  • Coordination of program CDRL creation, review, approval and delivery per customer schedule.
  • Coordination of functional inputs for program delivery (e.g. EHS, security, facilities etc)
  • Coordination of program Risk, Issues and Opportunities and change management
  • Task Management/ Action Register management
  • General project reporting requirements: Report preparation and distribution
  • Co-ordinate meetings for the Program and various teams including agenda and actions
  • Coordination of onsite visits/events
  • General office duties including mail, stationery and other activities to keep the office running
  • Be the 'go-to' person for support across the team
  • Manage and coordinate access to various systems and tools across the business
  • Coordinate health monitoring tests (e.g. hearing as required)
  • Coordinate and manage the on-boarding experience for new employees
  • Training coordination for teammates to undertake Boeing and/or Defence training
  • Assist with travel arrangements including bookings and credit card reconciliation
  • Security administrative duties: enable compliance with Boeing and Defence requirements

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience in a similar role.
  • Have experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence systems or similar work management products
  • Be comfortable communicating both in-person and with remote agencies
  • Have a strong focus on delivering for the team
  • Able to achieve a Defence Baseline Security Clearance
  • Be an Australian citizen
