The opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Complex Task Lead who will join the Air Combat and Electronic Attack Sustainment Program.  In this leadership role, you will lead a team to ensure the effective delivery of Complex Task Management for the Air Combat Electronic Attack Sustainment Program (ACEASP), supporting sustainment activities for the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler platforms.

This role is based at RAAF Base Amberley

As the Complex Task Lead you will:

  • Lead investigation, planning, and resolution of complex Weapon System tasks.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including US Navy, regulators, suppliers, and Defence units.
  • Manage task outcomes in a matrix environment without direct resource control.
  • Develop and execute plans using Boeing Program Management Best Practices.
  • Deliver clear briefings to Defence and Enterprise stakeholders.
  • Apply expertise to complete task components efficiently.
  • Manage schedules, risks, and milestone achievement.
  • Communicate potential delays or quality issues promptly.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated Defence knowledge with 10 years' experience in aerospace engineering, maintenance or logistics.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience providing engineering and/or logistics support in an Australian Defence Force (ADF) military aircraft logistics support environment
  • Committed to timely task completion with a strong work ethic.
  • Skilled in innovative problem-solving.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation communication skills.
  • Effective leader and collaborator across all organisational levels.
  • The position holder may also be required to support other work and may be rostered for duty ‘on call' or for ‘shift work', when occasion requires.
