The Opportunity

Be part of a world-leading aerospace and Defence program delivering capabilities for the Australian Defence Force. Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Configuration Management Specialist to manage engineering change, control program data and deliver high‑quality, compliant configuration outcomes for the Super Hornet and Growler platform.

This role is based at RAAF Base Amberley.

As a Configuration Management Specialist you will manage engineering change activities, control project data to support program execution and make a meaningful contribution to data quality, compliance and traceability. You'll work as part of a dynamic team delivering mission‑critical aerospace capability.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the program's product definition and design data, technical baselines, engineering changes and approved configuration.
  • Coordinate Configuration Control Boards and ensure engineering change is managed in a controlled and auditable manner.
  • Prepare for and participate in product technical design reviews and audits.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of configuration management plans, processes, systems and tools.
  • Maintain controls to ensure data meets security, trade control and intellectual property requirements.
  • Conduct data audit checks within tools to ensure correct CM principles and records management practices are applied and compliant.
  • Interface effectively with project team members and customers to support safe, timely and accurate operation of the platform.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated experience applying Configuration Management in a regulated environment (DASR, CASR, TAREG, TRAMM‑L or similar).
  • Formal Configuration Management training or certification is advantageous.
  • Experience using a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system or an electronic document management system.
  • Defence or technical industry experience highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organisation and prioritisation skills with excellent attention to detail.
